When using a portable electric brake controller, ensure no other accessories are plugged into the same accessory socket as the controller. This can reduce the brake controller's effectiveness and result in less braking force applied to the towed trailer.
For towing dual axle trailers, It is recommended to use a 15 amp 12V accessory socket rather than the standard 10 amp socket. The power setting can be at maximum for both single and dual axle trailers.
A 10 amp socket may not allow the brake controller to reach its full braking force for dual axle trailers. The power setting can be at maximum for single axle trailers and at 80% for dual axle trailers. Failure to do so can cause blown fuses and other electrical issues.
